Program Management Processes -
Introduction The Program Management Processes are
primarily integrative in that they
coordinate the outputs of various projects
to derive the desired program outcomes.
Initiating Process Group Initiation of a program occurs as the
results of a strategic plan, a strategic
initiative to fulfill an initiative within a
portfolio, or as the result of a decision to
bid for a contract from an external
customer.
Planning Process Group The Planning Process Group contains the
processes needed to lay the groundwork for
the program and position it for successful
execution.
Executing Process Group The Execution Process Group is comprised
of the process that drive the program work
in accordance with the program management
plan and its subsidiary plans, if
applicable.
Monitoring and Controlling Process
Group Monitoring and Controlling involves
obtaining and consolidating data on status
and progress from individual projects or
program packages, at the program level.
